The main objective of this initiative is to improve neighborhood coexistence and foster a change in driver habits. The campaign, driven by proposals from residents gathered in citizen participation meetings, will run until July 26th.
During this period, municipal staff will place informational notices on vehicles parked in unauthorized areas. This preliminary measure aims to raise driver awareness before considering further control actions.
The action is part of the participatory process that the City Council's Citizen Participation Area has been developing in the neighborhood since late 2023. Six meetings have been held with nearly fifty residents, identifying needs related to mobility, coexistence, and public space maintenance.
As a result of these meetings, several actions have already been implemented, including closing the street in front of the Municipal Sports Pavilion to traffic, installing speed bumps, renewing road signage, and repainting no-parking lines.
Furthermore, a family event is planned for late August to inaugurate the new vehicle-free space created in Vila-romà Square, an activity supported by local residents with municipal backing.
The council emphasizes that this initiative reflects its citizen participation model, aiming to directly involve residents in improving neighborhoods and the overall quality of life in the municipality.
