The Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Vela Palamós hosts the 36th International Optimist Trophy from February 12 to 15, featuring 360 boats and a return to its original port base.

The organizers have moved all activities back to the Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Vela Palamós port, ending a 20-year period at Platja Gran. This change aims to improve logistics and streamline departures by organizing the fleet into four groups of 90 boats.

"The new configuration of four groups of 90 boats will facilitate the work of the Race Committees and provide more maneuvering room for the fleet."

Despite the reduction in participants, the regatta maintains its international status with sailors from 22 countries, including Germany, the United States, Brazil, and Turkey. Competitors aged 10 to 15 represent their national teams in the waters of Palamós.
The trophy is the penultimate event of the Optimist Excellence Cup. The competition also holds the Clean Regatta certification from Sailors for the Sea, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability by eliminating single-use plastics.
