The operations, scheduled for September, focus on clearing and cleaning the vegetation along the sides of the access paths to Puig Cargol. The aim is to reduce the fuel load and improve the safety of the area, clearing approximately five meters on each side of the paths.
These tasks, carried out by a specialized company, also include improving access routes to ensure emergency vehicles, such as Firefighters' trucks, can reach the forest areas with maximum efficiency if needed.
This intervention follows up on the fire prevention actions that the Palamós City Council has undertaken in recent months across various parts of the municipality, including la Fosca, Castell, Es Pla, and el Figuerà.
Through these combined efforts, the council is reinforcing its prevention and protection measures against forest fire risks, particularly in areas with significant forest cover, thereby enhancing the safety of the natural environment. The initiative is supported by the Provincial Council of Girona.
