The public prosecutor has upheld a request for 14 years and 11 months in prison for a man accused of killing another with a machete in Verges in August 2022.

During the final session of the trial, prosecutor Enrique Barata confirmed the charges of homicide with the aggravating factor of abuse of superiority. The incident occurred outside the Mas Pi restaurant following a dispute earlier that night.
The victim was struck twice, in the shoulder and neck, while attempting to de-escalate the situation. While private prosecutors are calling for a 20-year sentence for murder, the defense argues for a maximum of 10 years, citing intoxication and personality disorders.
