The Torroella de Montgrí City Council has formalized a new collaboration framework this March between the Municipal Archive and the Museum of the Mediterranean Documentation Centre to improve researcher services.

This decision aims to consolidate a working dynamic already seen in projects like the Baix Ter Research Forum. By integrating these services, the local government seeks to provide a more efficient response to heritage management and avoid administrative duplications.
Under the new organizational structure, the municipal archivist will take over technical coordination regarding archival description and conservation tools. The museum's documentalist will continue her work in direct alignment with the archive's technical standards.
A key change involves future document donations. From now on, any material given to the City Council will undergo a professional assessment to determine its final location, ensuring the best possible conservation and public accessibility.
