The seven injured individuals, none seriously, have been taken to medical centers primarily for cuts or blows sustained from falls, as reported by Protecció Civil. Initially, an eighth affected person was reported but ultimately did not require hospital attention.
Throughout the weekend, the 112 emergency line handled over a thousand calls, corresponding to 753 incidents. The Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) have carried out nearly 800 wind-related operations, with more than half concentrated in the Girona regions. Most of these interventions involved fallen trees, branches, utility poles, and loose elements threatening to detach.
Among the most significant incidents, the ACN (Catalan News Agency) reported two cases at campsites. One in Noguera, where a falling metal sheet injured three people, and another in Baix Empordà, one of the most severely hit regions, where a person was injured by a falling tree.
“"Between 10 PM and 7 AM this morning, we have attended only 7 wind-related services. All in the REGirona. None significant."
The storm, which has particularly affected the Girona regions, is expected to persist until Tuesday. The areas of Empordà and the Pyrenees will remain the most critical points during Monday morning. Throughout the day, strong wind gusts will extend towards Ponent and, in the afternoon, to the south of the country, including the Terres de l'Ebre and Camp de Tarragona.
Currently, five regions are under an orange alert (danger level 3 out of 6) for wind: Alt Empordà, Ripollès, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, and Alta Ribagorça.
