A woman lost her life this Tuesday after accidentally falling from a 40-meter high cliff in Torroella de Montgrí, located in the Baix Empordà region.

The accident took place on the camí de ronda coastal path, specifically near the Roca de la Cadira area. A friend walking with the victim alerted emergency services at 12:41 PM.
The Generalitat Firefighters deployed a helicopter and members of the Special Assistance Group (GRAE), alongside underwater units. Maritime Rescue also dispatched a vessel to assist from the sea.
Rescuers found the body on the rocks of a nearby cove, where a doctor confirmed the death. After the legal removal of the body, it was taken to the beach. The SEM medical service provided psychological support to the victim's companion.
