The commemoration will include a central event at 1 PM, open to the public, to review the Archive's trajectory and reflect on its present and future role. The event will highlight its function as a public service for the conservation, management, consultation, and dissemination of Palafrugell's documentary heritage.
Since its launch in 1986, the Archive has undergone significant evolution, joining the Generalitat's Archive Network and moving through different locations such as Can Genís and Can Rosés. It currently manages historical and administrative documentation as well as born-digital documents and digitized heritage.
“"The creation of the Municipal Archive"
The event will feature two round tables. The first, titled "The Creation of the Municipal Archive," will bring together Ramon Alberch, Joaquim Nadal, Lluís Medir, and Pep Matas to discuss the service's origins.
“"Forty Years of Archiving"
The second round table, "Forty Years of Archiving," will feature Núria Corredor, Enric Bruguera, Marta Gallart, and Montse Miró, focusing on the Archive's evolution and the changes it has experienced.
The event will also include institutional interventions from the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Joaquim Borràs, and the mayor of Palafrugell, and will address future projects and challenges.
Later, at 7 PM, the commemoration will continue with the presentation of the book "Històries d’Arxiver" (Stories of an Archivist) by Joan Boadas, who will discuss the archivist profession and the role of archives in preserving collective memory.
