The Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, visited Palamós this Monday to learn about local fishing sector projects, including the new electric vessel Aulamar.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Òscar Ordeig, was received in Palamós by the mayor, deputy mayor, and the president of the Fishermen's Guild. The visit focused on the port's fishing facilities.
During the tour, Ordeig inspected the workshop of the Palamós Fishery Producers Organization, a key space that allows fresh fish to be processed for distribution to the Palamós Hospital and various local schools. He also learned about initiatives such as the Palamós Prawn Management Plan and visited cultural spaces like the Fishing Museum and the Espai del Peix.
One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the Aulamar project, a vessel currently under construction at the Culmar shipyards in Cadiz. This innovative boat will operate with 100% electric propulsion and is expected to enter service during the summer, according to the planned schedule.

The project aims to bring knowledge of the sea closer to the public, generating educational and scientific experiences of high pedagogical and sustainable value.

The main objective of Aulamar is to complement the offerings of the Fishing Museum, serving as a floating classroom and a marine observatory. The day concluded with a meeting with sector representatives at the headquarters of the Fishermen's Guild to discuss their main concerns and needs.
