The XI Guíxols Cup Optimist, held on the weekend of February 7 and 8, saw high participation. A total of 105 sailors, representing 16 different clubs, competed over the two days.
Participants were divided into Gold and Silver groups, a system designed to ensure fair classification adapted to the sporting level of each sailor, promoting equitable competition.
The regatta was marked by complex weather conditions. On Saturday, a decreasing Garbí wind and high waves only allowed for the completion of a single race, complicating the start of the competition.

The Guíxols Cup Optimist establishes itself as one of the key events for youth sailing on the Costa Brava, reaffirming the commitment to grassroots nautical sports.

On Sunday, organization was complicated by an initial land breeze followed by the sudden entry of an unstable North wind. Despite the technical difficulty, two additional races were successfully held.
With three races completed in total, the event organized by the Club Nàutic Sant Feliu de Guíxols has reaffirmed its crucial role in promoting youth sailing on the Costa Brava.
