Work to survey the facades of the old town in Torroella de Montgrí will begin next Wednesday, October 21st, and is expected to last approximately two to three weeks.

This action is necessary for the drafting of the Special Plan for Interior Reform (PERI) of the Barri Vell. The technical team in charge of the study will take measurements of the building facades using supported ladders and a drone, which will provide the essential graphic information for developing the urban planning document.
The PERI covers the old town of Torroella de Montgrí, bordered by Passeig de Catalunya, Carrer de Vicenç Bou, Plaça d’Espanya and Plaça de Quintana i Combis, Carrer del Roser, Avinguda de Lluís Companys, and Plaça del Lledoner.
The main objective of the Special Plan is to recover and enhance the urban, historical, and architectural heritage of the old town, concerning both buildings and public spaces. The document outlines three main lines of action: the redevelopment of streets to adapt them to the needs of a historic center and improve their infrastructure and services; a program for the rehabilitation and improvement of building facades and key public spaces; and the reinforcement of cultural facilities through the protection and reuse of buildings of significant value, with uses compatible with their characteristics.
Furthermore, the PERI will establish criteria for regulating interventions in buildings, including potential modifications and extensions, to ensure they are compatible with existing architectural typologies and the heritage values of the Barri Vell.
