The new device is placed on the exterior of the facility, next to the Guillem de Montgrí School, to ensure access for both pavilion and school users. It can also be used by the various entities that utilize the municipal facility, such as the Club Gimnàstic Montgrí, the Tennis Taula de Torroella de Montgrí, and the Castellers del Montgrí, as well as for organized activities like the Quina of UE Torroella.
With this addition, Torroella de Montgrí now has 5 public defibrillators, located at C. Ullà, the parking lot of Plaça del Lledoner, the old pavilion of Torroella, the new sports field, and the sports pavilion of Escola Guillem de Montgrí. In L'Estartit, there are 3 more devices at the Escola Portitxol, the football field, and the Club Nàutic l’Estartit.
In total, the municipality has 8 defibrillators, 7 of which were made possible thanks to the collaboration of Dipsalut. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a crucial device for saving lives in case of cardiac arrest, as it provides voice instructions and only applies a shock if necessary, significantly increasing survival chances if acted upon quickly.
