The municipal plenary session of Castellví de Rosanes has approved the first fee collection intended to finance future sewer works in the Can Sunyer neighborhood. The Tax Management Body will issue the first partial bill to plots that have not opted for a single upfront payment.

The Castellví de Rosanes City Council has given the green light for the first fee collection for sewer works in the Can Sunyer neighborhood. This measure will allow the Tax Management Body to begin issuing the first partial bill to plots that have not opted for a single upfront payment. The land readjustment project, definitively approved last July, establishes the necessary financial contribution for the improvement of the sewer system and other pending actions in the neighborhood.
The decision was made with the votes in favor of the governing team (Endavant Castellví and Fem Poble-ERC) and the abstention of Junts per Castellví. The item was urgently included in the plenary session at the request of the Tax Management Body, which requested a review of the wording before it was added to the agenda.
Mayor Sergi Busquets highlighted the significance of this step as a decisive move for the sewer project, the result of months of work. He explained that payments will be semi-annual, with a planned total of eight installments over four years, although the intention to explore improvements and new financing lines that could benefit residents remains.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Anna Gil, emphasized the cross-party support for the project and valued the process of consultation and active listening with residents. She lamented attempts to undermine the work done, assuring that all possible avenues have been explored to find the best solution for the affected families.
The spokesperson for Junts per Castellví, Vicky Castellanos Núñez, expressed her disagreement regarding the lack of prior information about the urgent item, pointing out that the collection affects approximately 40% of residents, with amounts that could reach 12,000-15,000 euros per plot, and up to 30,000 euros for 21 residents.
The mayor clarified that the initial intention was to establish twelve payments, but legal guidelines led to eight payments. He defended the holding of neighborhood meetings on September 16 and 17 as a way to disseminate information and resolve doubts, and apologized for the possible lack of notice to the opposition regarding the urgency of the item.
