The Senior Citizens' Table of les Franqueses del Vallès has kicked off its 2026-2027 academic year activities with its first meeting. This consultative and participatory body, established a year ago, periodically addresses the needs of the elderly population, extending its scope to individuals aged 55 and over to include the perspective of slightly younger generations.
In this inaugural session, work from previous meetings has continued, and efforts have begun to tackle one of the most pressing concerns for seniors: unwanted loneliness. The Table aims to develop an awareness campaign on this issue and create a map of tools and resources to prevent or improve the situation for those who find themselves involuntarily alone.
Furthermore, a new community garden project was presented during the meeting, seeking to foster participation and well-being among seniors.
The Senior Citizens' Table is open to new members. Individuals over 55 interested in participating in the meetings can sign up by writing to gentgran@lesfranqueses.cat or by calling 938 616 360.
