17-year-old dies in AP-7 hit-and-run accident

The passenger of a motorcycle died after falling from the vehicle and being hit by a truck in Castellví de Rosanes.

A 17-year-old girl died early Thursday morning in a tragic accident on the AP-7 highway, near Castellví de Rosanes, in the Baix Llobregat region.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight when the occupants of a motorcycle had an accident and fell off the vehicle. Subsequently, a truck traveling on the road hit the passenger, a 17-year-old girl, who died from her injuries.
The motorcycle rider was injured and taken to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Martorell, while the truck driver was unharmed. The accident took place at kilometer marker 172.6 of the highway, heading south.
The exact causes of the crash are still under investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra, who responded to the scene with five patrol cars. Two units from the Bombers de la Generalitat and six units from the Emergency Medical System (SEM), including psychological support, also attended.
With this fatality, the provisional death toll on Catalan roads in 2026 reaches 71, of which 30 were motorcyclists.
The AP-7 highway experienced significant disruptions due to the accident. The road was completely closed southbound until 00:45 AM and one lane remained shut until 5:00 AM. Another accident involving a truck and a car on the AP-7 in La Pobla de Montornès also occurred on Thursday, forcing lane closures southbound.
