The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility approved on Wednesday a 40.5 million euro project to reduce noise pollution on the AP-7 highway in the Baix Llobregat region.

The initiative focuses on Martorell, Sant Andreu de la Barca, and El Papiol, where the highway runs close to residential areas. Measures include the installation of acoustic screens and the application of specialized sound-absorbing asphalt to minimize traffic noise.
Part of the Noise Action Plan, the project covers the section between Sant Celoni and Martorell. This historical investment aims to improve environmental comfort and sustainability for local residents living near the infrastructure.
