The city of Castelldefels, known for being home to numerous athletes, will host a sculpture symbolizing the embrace between two prominent football figures, a tribute to their shared history with the locality.

The artwork, titled Gloria, will be created by artist Lorenzo Quinn, who has a close connection to the city. The piece will be located on the Castelldefels promenade and will recreate the emblematic embrace between the two footballers in 2005, during the match against Albacete, when one of them scored their first goal with the FC Barcelona first team.
According to a statement from the Castelldefels City Council, the inauguration of the sculpture is expected

This initiative is part of a broader agreement between the artist and the local council, through which Quinn donates between eight and twelve sculptures to the city free of charge and on a temporary basis. The Gloria sculpture, which will become property of the municipal administration, aims to

"become another of Castelldefels' icons"

The sculpture will stand 260 centimeters tall and weigh approximately 700 kilograms. The total manufacturing cost is estimated at 75,000 euros, of which 50,000 euros will be covered by the City Council and the remainder will be financed by the artist.
