The Local Government Board of Castelldefels has approved a major renovation for Plaza de la Democracia, featuring a new interactive ornamental fountain and enhanced public accessibility.

Approved on February 13, the project aims to revitalize this public space by installing a walkable fountain with 14 vertical jets. These ground-level nozzles will be capable of reaching heights of up to two meters, creating a dynamic visual experience.
Each jet will operate independently, allowing for programmed water displays and sequences. The installation will also feature multicolor LED lighting to enhance the square's nighttime atmosphere through various color effects and transitions.
In addition to the fountain, the Castelldefels administration will renew the pavement and remove existing architectural barriers. A modern water filtration and treatment system will also be implemented to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.
