The Association of Promoters of Catalonia (APCE) will present the APCE 2026 award for the best innovation and sustainability project this afternoon, starting at 7:30 PM. The award recognizes the La Seda-Paperera project in El Prat for its transformation of former industrial land into a new urban model.
The distinction highlights the new neighborhood for its implementation of a superblock system and environmental regeneration of the area. The project includes over 5,700 homes, with more than 43% designated for official protection housing (HPO) and 20% for publicly owned affordable rentals.
The award will be accepted by the Councilor for Urbanism and Housing of El Prat City Council, Rafael Duarte, and the land manager in Catalonia for Metrovacesa, Alfredo Sarrias.
The award ceremony will take place at the Science Museum-CosmoCaixa, located at C. de Isaac Newton, 26, in Barcelona, in the Auditorium and Flooded Forest Hall, at 7:30 PM.
