A forest vegetation fire in Gavà led to the closure of the C-32 highway in both directions and affected a portion of the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park during the Easter holiday return operation.

The fire started around two in the afternoon on Monday, April 6, 2026, creating a visible smoke plume from various points in the Baix Llobregat region of Barcelona. Seven units from the Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya quickly responded to the scene to bring the situation under control.
Initially, the C-32 was completely closed, but within an hour, traffic was restored in one direction. According to the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), by 3:21 PM, vehicle traffic had fully returned to normal.
A second fire outbreak spread towards the boundaries of the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park, burning an area of approximately 500 square meters of scrubland. This outbreak, which occurred near greenhouses, raised concerns about potential damage to the plastic structures, but fortunately, the flames were prevented from reaching them.
The Bombers confirmed that only a small section of scrubland providing access to this important agricultural stronghold of the Barcelona metropolitan area was affected, thus preventing major damage to the agricultural facilities.
