The Department of Agriculture confirmed this Friday two cases of African Swine Fever in Molins de Rei, marking the first detections outside the original 6-kilometer 'ground zero' radius.

Following these findings, the Generalitat has expanded the high-risk area to include 14 municipalities, adding Molins de Rei and El Papiol to the list of restricted zones in the Barcelona province.
Minister Òscar Ordeig announced new restrictions on natural spaces and the reinforcement of fences along the N-2 and B-23 highways to prevent the movement of infected wild boars.

"The priority remains to contain the focus, reopen markets, and continue investigating the origin of the virus."
