Journalist and editor Joan Carles Valero has presented the Anuari 2026 Next Llobregat and the new digital outlet Next Llobregat.cat, an initiative addressing longevity and ageism in the southern metropolitan region.

The Anuari 2026 Next Llobregat is now available for free, offering a nearly 400-page X-ray of longevity in Baix Llobregat and L'Hospitalet. This work, published by BCN Content Factory (Baconfa, SL), is defined as proximity, service, and solutions journalism, as it not only reports on social problems but also investigates and narrates initiatives aimed at solving them.
Concurrently, the new digital platform Next Llobregat.cat has been launched. According to its editor, Joan Carles Valero, the outlet aims to practice useful and constructive journalism. The medium focuses on features, interviews, and analysis, using data and service journalism to connect and inspire the future.

"We are sure that in this 21st century, older people will be the protagonists of a new revolution thanks to greater life expectancy and healthier, more active aging."

The Yearbook features the participation of about twenty young journalists who interview fifty representatives of the new longevity. Topics covered include the new Catalonia Elderly Law, the metropolitan demographic challenge, the silver economy, and the conclusions of the I Ageism Congress organized by the Diputació de Barcelona.
The presentation of the yearbook, distributed free of charge in digital and print formats, took place on January 27 at the auditorium of the Consell Comarcal del Baix Llobregat. The publication highlights that many negative ideas associated with aging are untrue, noting that life satisfaction and happiness, according to the UN report, increase in those over 60 years old.
