The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a man last Thursday, February 5, on Pare Andreu de Palma avenue in El Prat de Llobregat, after he was caught walking with a submachine gun in his hand.

The incident took place around 6:00 PM, when several residents alerted the 112 emergency line that an individual had removed a long gun from the trunk of a parked vehicle and was walking calmly down the street. This action caused great alarm and astonishment among pedestrians and residents in the area.
Given the seriousness of the report, several police units quickly deployed to Pare Andreu de Palma avenue. Catalonia Police officers were able to locate and arrest the man immediately, preventing the situation from escalating.
During the intervention, the Mossos confiscated the weapon, confirming that it was a replica submachine gun, along with the corresponding documentation. Despite the initial scare, no incidents were reported.
The police are currently investigating the origin of the weapon and the reasons why the individual was carrying it in public, an event that occurred in broad daylight, according to the digital newspaper La Premsa del Baix.
