The Olesa de Montserrat Council met with the Department of Transport on March 20, 2026, to address ongoing failures in the bus service connecting the town with Barcelona.

Local authorities submitted a formal report detailing 250 incidents. Main grievances include insufficient bus frequency, scheduling mismatches, and a lack of real-time information on the Monbús digital platforms.

"We do not want to lose direct connections between Olesa and Barcelona."

Marc Serradó · Mayor of Olesa de Montserrat
Despite a new contract featuring hybrid vehicles, the service has decreased from 29 to 25 daily trips. This has led to overcrowded buses at key stops like Maria Cristina, forcing commuters to switch to train travel.
Mobility Councilor Jordi Parent emphasized that the Generalitat must monitor the operator closely. New adjustments are expected by April 7, and the council has requested financial penalties if the service does not meet contractual standards.
