The Sant Vicenç dels Horts City Council Plenary approved on January 31, 2026, a new traffic ordinance setting a 30 km/h speed limit and regulating electric scooters to significantly enhance road safety.

The new municipal regulation, replacing the previous one in force since 2006, establishes a speed limit of 30 km/h across all municipal roads. Key changes include regulating Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs), making the use of helmets and insurance mandatory for these devices.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, María Peláez, defended the update, emphasizing its coherence with current legislation. The ordinance received support from the local government (PSC and SVECP) and Fem Sant Vicenç, while Vox abstained from the vote.

"We propose a new ordinance consistent with current regulations that will provide us with the necessary legal certainty."

The ordinance also incorporates an environmental focus, regulating low emissions and establishing a framework for installing electric charging points and solar charging stations. Fem Sant Vicenç spokesperson, Arnau Mata, highlighted that the “focus has been placed on the pedestrian and their safety.”
In addition to traffic matters, the Plenary approved extending the cleaning service contract for schools with LIMASA for nine months (valued at 731,370 euros) and an agreement with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) for curricular internships.
