Storm Nils hit Martorell and the Baix Llobregat area this Thursday, leading to railway closures and the suspension of all educational and non-urgent health activities.

The VENTCAT emergency plan was activated as wind gusts exceeded 100 km/h. In Martorell, train services towards Sant Feliu were halted due to fallen trees on the tracks. Meanwhile, El Prat Airport reported over thirty flight cancellations due to the extreme weather conditions.
Authorities have suspended all outdoor activities and closed schools across Catalonia. This storm is considered one of the most significant wind events in the last 20 years. Emergency services remain on high alert until the winds subside later this afternoon.

"It is confirmed that by early afternoon the most significant records will decrease."
