The Servei Català de Trànsit has closed the AP-7 in Martorell southbound again, requested by the Ministry of Transport, to resume stabilization work on the slope that caused the train accident on January 20 in Gelida.

This new closure affects the stretch between Martorell and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, where only one lane had been open since last Saturday. Reconstruction work now requires the closure of all lanes heading towards Tarragona due to logistical requirements.
The director of the Servei Català de Trànsit, Ramon Lamiel, explained that the work focuses on excavating the area until the most stable part is reached, allowing it to be secured. This operation requires moving heavy machinery onto the left lanes, impacting the right lane.

"The closure was made for logistical reasons related to the excavation work and not because circulation on the lanes, which had already been reopened, is unsafe."

The works are expected to last at least one more week, without affecting the northbound direction. Lamiel confirmed that the previously announced alternative routes are being reinstated, including the C-25 inland, the N-340 and C-15 towards Penedès, and the C-32 along the coast.
