The system is integrated into a mobile trailer equipped with high-definition cameras and advanced algorithms. Its main feature is an overhead view that allows for continuous monitoring of vehicle occupants' behavior.
During June and July, a pilot test was conducted at strategic locations such as the A-2 in Cornellà de Llobregat and the former La Roca toll station on the AP-7. The collected data shows that driving distractions remain a significant issue on the road network.
The analysis detected over 8,500 drivers using their mobile phones and 4,500 passengers not correctly using their seatbelts. The agency aims to refine this technology for integration into the road safety plan scheduled for the 2027-2030 period.
