Renfe implemented a partial Rodalies service across the entire railway network in Catalunya this Saturday, January 24, 2026, due to geotechnical inspections aimed at preventing potential landslides.

The railway company Renfe announced via a press release that there are significant disruptions across all lines, as geotechnical reviews are being carried out at various points of the network identified as having a risk of landslips. These works are part of the safety measures agreed upon this week with the train drivers' unions.
The inspections, conducted by geotechnical engineers, have necessitated the implementation of a partial service and the reinforcement of alternative road transport on numerous sections. The primary goal is to ensure passenger mobility while the prevention work is underway.
The most affected lines include the R1 (with alternative road service between BlanesMaçanet-Massanes and BadalonaMongat), the R2 Sud (cut between Castelldefels and Garraf), and the R4 (with buses between Manresa and Terrassa, and between Martorell Central and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia).
There are also significant cuts to regional services, such as the R11 (FigueresPortbou), R13 (Sant Vicenç de CaldersLleida), and R15 (ReusRiba-roja), all operating with alternative road transport. Additionally, the R3 is completely suspended between Ribes and Puigcerdà due to adverse weather conditions.
Renfe has increased information and customer service staff at the affected stations and advises users to consult updated schedules and plan their journeys in advance.
