Technicians inspecting a section of railway track damaged by an embankment collapse in a construction area.

The R4 Rodalies line service was interrupted on February 5 between Martorell and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat as a precaution, after an embankment collapsed in the area of the Sant Feliu de Llobregat tunneling works.

The landslide occurred within the framework of the undergrounding works being carried out in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. Knowledgeable sources confirmed that the material collapse affected part of the railway platform, although the tracks (rails) were not directly damaged.

The railway company has activated an alternative road service and redirected users towards other public transport means to minimize disruptions.

Technicians from Adif quickly moved to the site of the incident to assess the damage and begin repair work. For the moment, no clear forecast has been established for the resumption of the railway service on this key section.
For affected travelers, Renfe recommends using the FGC between Martorell and Cornellà, the Tram near Sant Feliu de Llobregat, and the metro to cover the journey between Cornellà and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The rest of the R4 line continues to operate normally.
