Repair work on the R4 track and catenary continues near Gelida following the accident on Day 20, maintaining the alternative bus service between Sant Sadurní and Martorell.

Cleanup and conditioning work on the R4 track section in Gelida, where the accident on Day 20 occurred, causing one death and 37 injuries, continues intensely. These track repair efforts coincide with the repair of the AP-7 embankment that collapsed due to the same incident.
With the remaining parts of the convoy removed (the last carriage was taken away last Tuesday after being dismantled on site), efforts in recent days have focused on repairing the track and the catenary, which were severely damaged after the impact.
Although Rodalies services have gradually returned to normal, the section of the R4 between Sant Sadurní and Martorell continues to be covered by an alternative bus service. Since this service cannot use the AP-7 (which is cut off), users in Sant Sadurní and Gelida must take the bus along secondary roads to Martorell and then board the train towards Barcelona.
This transport combination can extend the journey between Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Barcelona to almost two hours, creating a daily “particular odyssey” for commuters.
