The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested an 18-year-old youth with previous records at the Martorell station on the morning of January 1, accused of forcing the cash register of a local bar.

The events took place around one in the morning on New Year's Day, January 1, in Martorell. The establishment's alarm was triggered when security cameras detected a presence, identifying it as a possible break-in inside the premises.
Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra immediately went to the scene and confirmed that the entrance had been forced and that the cash register on the ground floor had been tampered with. The thief had managed to steal the day's takings.

The swift police action allowed the robbery to be foiled and the individual to be located thanks to the alert from a key witness who saw him heading towards the station.

While officers were inspecting the area, a witness reported that a young man matching the camera description was heading towards the train station. The Mossos quickly moved to the RENFE de Martorell station and located the individual in the lobby, just as he was preparing to flee the municipality by train.
The 18-year-old youth was arrested red-handed. The detainee has four previous police records for similar offenses. Following the arrest, he was placed at the disposal of the Martorell Duty Court of Instruction.
