Under the slogan “Make health with all your heart!”, Molins de Rei celebrates its XI Heart Week, coinciding with World Heart Day on September 29th. The aim is to promote healthy habits and bring cardiovascular health into people's daily lives.
Throughout the week, free activities combining prevention, education, physical activity, and well-being have been scheduled. On Thursday, October 1st, at 11 am, at the Municipal Market, the Red Cross Baix Llobregat Centre will conduct a practical cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) workshop to teach basic guidelines for acting in case of cardiac arrest.
On Friday, October 2nd, at 6 pm, in the Aula Polivalent of the Federació Obrera, professionals from CAP La Granja will give a talk titled “Nutrition, Sport, and Emotional Well-being in the Prevention of Heart Diseases”. The session will cover how daily routines can contribute to preventing heart conditions and offer practical tips for a healthy lifestyle.
The program will conclude on Saturday, October 3rd, at 10 am, with a route through the municipality's Health Parks, starting from CAP La Granja. This activity, led by instructors from the Municipal Sports Services and the CAP team, will combine nature, movement, and well-being.
Additionally, pharmacies in Molins de Rei will offer arrhythmia screenings to individuals over fifty. The El Molí Library will feature a special bibliographic collection, and short videos with cardiovascular health tips will be published. There will also be free guided sessions at municipal sports facilities and outdoor activities.
Various local shops and restaurants will join the initiative by promoting heart-healthy products and dishes. The Heart Week is made possible through the collaboration of municipal services, healthcare professionals, organizations, pharmacies, and local businesses.
All activities are free and open to the public. Participants will receive a gift of heart-healthy products. For more information, the complete program can be found on the municipal website.
