The Local Catalan Service of Molins de Rei has launched, for the first time, conversation groups for the 'Voluntariat per la Llengua' (Volunteer for Language) program, aiming to facilitate Catalan practice for individuals who prefer a more relaxed environment for interaction.

The initiative arose from a proposal made during the exhibition "Quan parles fas màgia" (When you speak, you make magic) held at the headquarters of the Agrupació Folklòrica Molins de Rei (Molins de Rei Folklore Group), a collaborating entity of the Local Catalan Service (SLC). The idea is to create small conversation groups led by volunteers, where participants feel more comfortable expressing themselves than in one-on-one interactions.
Currently, the SLC has two conversation groups that meet on different days, each led by a male and female volunteer. The collaboration with local entities such as the Centre Excursionista Molins de Rei (Molins de Rei Hiking Center), the Agrupació Folklòrica Molins de Rei, and the Ateneu Mulei has been crucial, as they have provided their spaces for the meetings. This allows activities to take place in venues where other events are already held, offering learners the opportunity to discover and potentially join them, as well as practice Catalan with more people.
These conversation groups complement the easy reading sessions organized with the Municipal Library. The overall assessment of these new gatherings by participants and collaborating entities is "highly satisfactory," thus consolidating a new avenue for the promotion and practice of the Catalan language in Molins de Rei.
