The Pallejà City Council has begun forestry work in the municipal estate of the Les Rovires forest this October, with the aim of reducing fire risk and improving the management of the municipality's natural spaces.

The operations are part of a coordinated project funded by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of the Generalitat de Catalunya. This project includes the creation of strategic containment lines to facilitate the control of potential large forest fires.
The forests of Pallejà are part of the priority containment axis Martorell – Santa Coloma de Cervelló, defined in collaboration with the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters). The work aims to reduce vegetation continuity, thereby facilitating firefighting efforts in the event of a fire.
In addition to improving safety, these actions will help adapt the landscape to new climatic conditions, protect people, infrastructure, and surrounding properties. They also aim to restore open spaces within the forest, strengthen the agroforestry mosaic, promote forest mass stability, and foster biodiversity.
Concurrently, similar actions are being carried out on adjacent estates along the Camí del Forn and at the old quarries, which are also part of the same strategic axis.
The work in the Les Rovires forest is expected to last approximately three months.
