The Mossos d’Esquadra are searching for 5-year-old Gina in El Prat de Llobregat after her father failed to return her to the mother last Sunday, December 14, opening an investigation into parental abduction.

The girl's mother filed the complaint at the Mossos d’Esquadra police station in El Prat de Llobregat on Sunday, after her ex-partner breached the judicially established visitation regime. Authorities are investigating the case as parental abduction—which occurs when a parent fails to return a minor—rather than kidnapping.
Police sources indicated that the father, an Argentine national, might be preparing to leave Spain, taking the child with him. So far, the Catalan Police have not been able to locate either the father or the minor, and the father is not answering phone calls.
