The new Children and Adolescents Council of the municipality of Sant Esteve Sesrovires was officially established this Thursday at the El Casino Municipal Theatre. This citizen participation body consists of 18 children and young people from 5th and 6th grade of primary school and 2nd and 3rd grade of secondary school, who have been chosen by their classmates. In this new term, 7 members are continuing, and 11 new councillors are joining.
The event was presided over by the mayor, Roser Brosed, accompanied by the Councillor for Children, Manel Martínez, and the Councillor for Youth and Education, Òscar Rodríguez. The municipal representatives welcomed the new members, encouraged them to work for the municipality, and thanked them for their commitment.
During the session, each councillor introduced themselves and explained the reasons for joining this participation body. The event, open to the public, was attended by representatives from the management teams of educational centres, family members of the councillors, and councillors from the local government.
The Children and Adolescents Council of Sant Esteve Sesrovires was first established on December 4, 2025. Since its inception, members have promoted various initiatives related to civic values, the environment, and participation, including the creation of the Council's logo and the proposal for a family board game space at the library, which has been well-received.
This Council aims to give children and young people a voice in municipal decisions, offering them a space to share ideas and propose improvements for the town.
