The general elections, to elect representatives to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate, will take place on Sunday, November 29, 2026. The electoral process began on October 6 with the official call. The electoral roll could be consulted between October 12 and 19, while the draw for electoral boards was held on November 3. The election campaign will run from November 13 to 27. Election day will be November 29, and the constitution of the new Cortes Generales is scheduled for December 23.
To ensure the right to vote under accessible conditions, several support measures have been implemented. Visually impaired individuals can request the accessible voting procedure until November 2, a system that allows them to vote autonomously and maintain the secrecy of their vote.
Furthermore, the City Council offers a free accompaniment service for people with mobility difficulties, provided by Red Cross volunteers. This service, available on Sunday, November 29, is aimed at the elderly or those with reduced mobility who require assistance to reach the polling station, such as individuals using canes, crutches, or wheelchairs. It includes round-trip transportation between their home and the Edifici Verd of IE Torrelles.
Interested individuals must submit their requests to the City Council before 2 PM on November 23, providing their full name, ID number (DNI), date of birth, address, and contact phone number, as well as indicating if a wheelchair is needed. Applications can be submitted in person at the City Council or via email to sac@torrelles.cat. Service coordinators will contact applicants before November 27 to confirm pick-up times. The service will operate on the morning of election day, between 9 AM and 1 PM.
The City Council emphasizes the importance of adhering to the established deadlines and encourages citizens to familiarize themselves with the available resources to exercise their voting rights with full guarantees.
