The local section of ERC concluded the internal designation process last Sunday, announcing the election of Rovira, a current councilor and regional representative, to lead the “new Republican project” in the municipality. The party thus begins a stage focused on renewal and internal cohesion.
“"A decade ago I began my political commitment and today I am entrusted, unanimously, with the opportunity to lead a new project for ERC El Vendrell. I face it with enthusiasm, responsibility, and the determination to put people at the center."
The election day proceeded normally and saw notable participation, according to the party, reaffirming ERC's commitment to internal democracy. This unanimous choice marks the beginning of a new political cycle aimed at consolidating the party's presence in El Vendrell.
Upon being proclaimed, Albert Rovira thanked Alfonso 'Sito' González, the previous mayoral candidate and municipal group spokesperson, for his dedication; González will not continue. Rovira noted the special symbolism of the moment, recalling that he began his political journey ten years ago as spokesperson for the JERC in the municipality.
The new lead candidate explained that the project he will lead will be “open, transversal, and transparent, with people at the center of all decisions,” emphasizing his deep roots in El Vendrell as a key element of his leadership.
