About thirty members of the Dansaires del Penedès traveled to Tunisia between December 3 and 10 to promote the sardana, performing at the famous Roman amphitheater of El Djem.

Once again, the sardana group from El Vendrell, known for its international promotion work, carried out its traditional annual trip to introduce the Catalan dance worldwide. The expedition consisted of about thirty people from various parts of the territory, including Girona, Barcelona, and Vilanova i la Geltrú.
During the eight-day stay, the dancers visited various cities and historical sites. Highlights included the ruins of Carthage, the southern oases, the Bardó museum, and the locations where scenes from the Star Wars films were recorded.

The culmination of the tour was the performance at the El Djem amphitheater, the fourth largest in the world and the setting where parts of the famous film Gladiator were shot.

In addition to the performance at El Djem, the group danced in the city of Sbeïtla, in the area known as the 'golden villas' of Roman-Byzantine Africa. Finally, they performed in the main city square to foster cultural exchange, where they received an excellent welcome.
In this final performance, the Dansaires del Penedès performed the sardana Amor d’àvies in the free points format, a modality in which the group had participated weeks earlier in the corresponding championship.
