A 34-year-old man, resident of Sant Cugat, suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the C-31 road in Cunit.

The incident took place on Avenida Barcelona in Cunit, which corresponds to the urban stretch of the C-31 highway. The victim, who was crossing at a pedestrian crossing near a pharmacy and the Clarel store, was struck by a minivan.
The Local Police and the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) quickly attended the scene. The man sustained minor injuries and was transferred to the Sant Antoni Abat Hospital in Vilanova i la Geltrú for medical assistance.
This area is a known black spot. The C-31 crossing through Cunit is a conflictive zone with repeated run-overs, often caused by vehicle speeding.
Although the C-32 motorway is free for 24-hour round trips between El Vendrell and Sitges, the road continues to handle heavy traffic of over 20,000 cars daily.
