The Baix Penedès County Council launched the development of its economic roadmap for the rest of the decade this March 2026, aiming to transform the local labor market.

Presented by the Councilor for Economic Promotion, José Maria Roldán, the initiative seeks to adapt growth policies to modern challenges. The document, created with DALEPH consultancy, will focus on reindustrialization to counter job insecurity.

"Resources must be directed where they are most needed to continue improving the labor market and reducing unemployment."

Preliminary findings by Jaume Amill from DALEPH suggest that the industrial sector provides more stable and higher-paying jobs, although local youth currently tend to favor the service sector.
A participatory phase involving town halls and social agents is now underway. The final plan is expected to be ready before the end of 2026.
