The municipality recently implemented a door-to-door waste collection system, which the council states is improving recycling separation. In parallel, emergency areas were established for those occasional cases where residents cannot adhere to the service's set schedules.
Waste separation (organic, packaging, paper and cardboard, and residual) must be done at home and deposited according to the collection calendar. Following the adaptation period, the City Council has begun conducting checks to verify service compliance.
It has been detected that some residents are making improper use of these emergency areas. These individuals or households will receive an informative notification warning of the detected non-compliance and reminding them of the obligation to use the service correctly.
The council warns that if these behaviors persist over time, they could lead to measures and penalties stipulated by current regulations. It is reminded that failing to reach the 60% recycling levels required by the European Union could increase the cost of waste disposal, which is passed on to the bill.
