The Castellví de la Marca City Council has closed the la Múnia municipal football field this February after severe weather conditions caused significant structural damage to the facility.

Strong winds and heavy rains have damaged the perimeter fencing and caused a retaining wall near the BV-2176 road to crack and shift. Technical studies are underway to determine the extent of the necessary repairs.

"The wind storm has brought us many problems. We are focused on repairing the fences first, then we must address the wall, which could be more difficult."

Xavi Cerezo · Sports Councilor
The closure affects AE La Múnia and local youth teams, who will be without a home ground until the end of the season. Matches are being rescheduled to neighboring towns such as Banyeres del Penedès.
