This Sunday, the Tour de France will travel 40 kilometers through roads in Baix Penedès and Alt Penedès, turning the area into a key point of the world cycling competition.

The second stage of the cycling race, connecting Tarragona with Barcelona, will pass through several municipalities such as el Vendrell, Calafell, Cunit, and Olesa de Bonesvalls. The route also includes passage through towns in the Garraf and Baix Llobregat regions, such as Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú, and Gavà.
To facilitate the passage of the cyclists and the event's logistics, authorities have planned the closure of affected roads from the early hours of the morning. This is a historic milestone, as it is the first time the race has traveled this far south in Catalonia as part of the Grand Départ.
The event will attract thousands of fans, many of whom travel in motorhomes. In addition to the sporting competition, the day will feature the advertising caravan, a 10-kilometer-long procession consisting of 150 vehicles from 37 partner brands that will precede the riders.
