The El Vendrell Local Police issued 510 fines to electric scooter users during the first year the new mobility ordinance was in force in the capital of Baix Penedès.

This figure represents an average of two daily sanctions since the regulation came into effect. The most common offense, accounting for more than half of the fines, is failing to wear the mandatory protective helmet.
Other frequent violations include improper circulation on sidewalks and areas exclusively designated for pedestrians in the urban center. The fines issued since January 2025 amount to a total value of 98,500 euros.

"During the last year, an average of two sanctions per day has been imposed, a fact that has 'greatly' reduced the offenses committed."

The Mobility Councillor, Christian Soriano, emphasized that this sanctioning intensity was preceded by an information campaign specifically aimed at young people before enforcement began against those who failed to comply with the regulations for personal mobility vehicles (PMV).
