Refugi 1 at the Moll de Costa of Port Tarragona is hosting an exhibition featuring thirty works from the International Contemporary Ceramics Fund of El Vendrell, available for viewing from Saturday, February 7 until March 22.

The exhibition presents a selection of thirty pieces originating from the El Vendrell International Ceramics Biennial, a recognized event in the international ceramics scene, and the Art Fund of the El Vendrell City Council. The main objective is to highlight the artistic heritage safeguarded by the fund and bring the creativity of artists who express themselves through clay closer to the Tarragona regions.
This initiative is part of the Baix Penedès municipality's effort to recover and disseminate the art of ceramics, which began in 2001 with the I Ceramics Biennial. Initially focused on contemporary production in the Catalan Countries, the Biennial expanded its scope after the third edition, attracting ceramists from around the world and establishing El Vendrell as a key international reference point.

The El Vendrell International Ceramics Biennial has consolidated itself as an event that attracts artists from all over the world and positions the town as a prominent reference point in the field of contemporary ceramics.

The exhibition includes works by artists awarded prizes in the thirteen editions held so far. Notable pieces include Refugiats, by Roser Oter (third prize winner of the IX Biennial), and Collapse, by the Hungarian artist Pálma Babos (first prize winner of the VII Biennial). Also on display is Kamaldu, by Rafael Pérez, known for viewing the creative process as a space for constant experimentation.
