The El Vendrell Local Police issued 510 fines to personal mobility vehicle users during the first year of implementation of the new municipal mobility ordinance.

The most frequent infraction, accounting for more than half of the total, is not wearing the mandatory helmet, resulting in 264 sanctions. The second main cause is circulating on sidewalks and the pedestrian zone of the Baix Penedès capital, accumulating 112 fines.

"The main problem we have is scooters going through the pedestrian island, scooters carrying two people, and users without insurance."

Christian Soriano · El Vendrell Security Councillor
Since January 2025, the 510 fines issued amount to 98,500 euros. According to Councillor Christian Soriano, most of this money has already been collected due to the 50% reduction on the 200-euro fine if paid promptly.
Other minor infractions include driving with more than one person (25 fines), circulating against traffic (20), not having civil liability insurance (11), or using a mobile phone while driving (9). The majority profile of those reported are minors and young people, who were the primary focus of the preceding information campaign.
