A lane on the AP-7 highway near El Vendrell remains closed this Friday morning, sixteen hours after a truck fire disrupted traffic in the northbound direction.

The incident began on Thursday after 7:00 PM. According to the Catalan Transit Service, the fire completely destroyed the truck's cabin and spread to the cargo, which consisted of boxes of garlic.
Emergency services had to close the highway at La Pobla de Montornès for several hours, diverting vehicles to the N-340 and C-32 roads. While most lanes have reopened, recovery operations for the damaged vehicle are still ongoing.
