The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 31-year-old man this Monday in Llorenç del Penedès for attempting to sell a stolen mountain bike worth 4,000 euros through a mobile application.

The suspect listed the bike for 1,275 euros. The original owner, who reported the theft on February 27th in la Múnia, spotted the ad and contacted the police in El Vendrell.
An undercover officer arranged a meeting in Escoles Street. When the seller failed to provide proof of purchase, officers confirmed the bike's serial number and its integrated 300-euro GPS tracker.
The seller is now under investigation for theft, and the bicycle has been returned to its rightful owner. Authorities advise citizens to keep records of serial numbers for high-value items.
